Demi Moore’s ‘Fresh Idea’ for GEMS
The game is on as actor-activist Demi Moore faces off against actor Kevin Bacon in Pepsi’s Refresh Everything online contest to award grants to worthy charities

When Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher met GEMS’ founder Rachel Lloyd one year ago, it was clear they had important work to do together in the fight against child sex trafficking.

This week, Moore announced that she will campaign for a Pepsi Refresh Idea as part of the Pepsi Refresh Celebrity Challenge in support of GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services. The grant would provide support to 10 outreach workers who help girls and young women who have experienced sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. GEMS’ outreach team is a core part of the survivor leadership model pioneered by Lloyd more than 10 years ago – all outreach workers are themselves alumni of GEMS’ award-winning programs.
